Good post, slacker.

Let's not forget that the comments by Dr. J concerning Q's WCDMA chip were quite optimistic. If hypothetically speaking WCDMA is in fact not extravagantly delayed, then Q will be there with the chips. And the royalties if the manufacturer does not use Q chips.

"None of this means that I am absolutely correct that NTT will roll-out a system in May '01.."

Slacker,

If you believe in NTT's rollout, it is Yozan, not NEC, that you look to for chipsets.

NTT has stated its relationship with Yozan in this regard.

Slacker ... so who is more correct ... the May '01 rollout of WCMDA (testing/network) or Qualcomm stating in Thursday's CC that there would be no real need (market) for a WCMDA chipsets for another 15-18 months (about Feb-May 2002); if I heard that correctly in the conference call?

Or are both statements accurate in their own right?

Just curious if anyone has an (informed) opinion ...
