I think I'm back up and running ok now. Thanks for the tips. I'll check them out a little later. Hope nobody else gets the same results from this error message that I did. Had to format and start all over. It's been a pain in the B**t. Looking to get DriveImage and a CDR this coming week.

Error Message

Explorer caused an invalid page fault in module Explorer.exe at 0197:0041f31

After shutdown I booted up to a blank desktop. No taskbar or icons..just a mouse pointer. Tried booting to safe mode...same results. Tried restoring a good registry...nada. Dell tech walked me through trying to boot from startup disk but a C drive nor any other drive could be detected.

On the bright side, I now have a fresh system.

Thank you very much, I will look at it late tonight. Believe me i knew a lot about my PC till windows 3.1 and now, I am a mushroom.
