You did know that about 35 states and District of Columbia have lawsuits pending. California had the largest decrease in support. I don't recall whether they have a Republican or Democrat. Maryland was up there also.

>>So you really believe Bush nor the Texas legislature cares about 'poor kids'?<<

I've got a good friend in Texas, so I called him and asked if they really were a "third world" place to live. He said that if you had the huge border with Mexico and all the influx of poor people, you too would have a huge poverty problem facing you (I live in Washington state). I did however live in Arizona in my younger years and am fully aware of what burdens immigration, both legal and illegal, places on the social services structure. Immigrants from Mexico are not the well to do - trust me on that one. Texas has a disproportionate number of poor, uneducated laborers with larger than "two kids per household" families. If you were willing to put basic facts like demographics into perspective, you might understand that Texas has done a pretty respectable job of handling this issue. However, as long as you want to correlate poverty conditions to Republican governors, you will continue to not understand the real issues. Explain to me why Texas ranks 41st on health care and New York ranks 43rd. Oh I know that's because New York city has a Republican mayor. Give me a break!

This is where you show that you just have no clue about the 'opposition'... when you start with the proposition that they are 'evil' it's very easy to just keep chomping on your bone like a dog. No thought, no need to think.

In Wisconsin, where Tommy Thompson is governor, the suit involves improper, illegal denial of continued Food Stamp benefits to those making the transition from welfare to work.

Much of Wisconsin's problems started years ago when Illinios (mainly Chicago) started to crack down on welfare abuse. Those people flooded Millwaukee and Madison. Then, recognizing what had happened, Wisconsin did the same things that Illinios did. Then the people left and those that stayed couldn't abuse the system and were forced to become productive members of society.

As someone that grew up in Madison and watched the people flood in, then exit, it doesn't bother me one bit and I could give a crap which party did it. As I recall, Wisconsin made it so you couldn't be on welfare for more than 2 years straight. If someone is bitching about not getting food stamps because they lived off the government till for 2 years (read: MY MONEY) and then were forced to get a job, f*ck 'em.
