The private sector can't do much unless the government allows it to. Examples - the internet industry which had to be okayed by the government (with Gore leading that effort) and the S+L de-regulation (led by reagan's pack) which allowed the S+L's to expand and grow by leaps and bounds until they suddenly all went bust. The government debt is our debt. We must pay it off before we give the rich (like me) a ton of tax breaks. Tricle down does not work. That has been proven. Remember?
