That's not jingoistic at all. All you have to do is listen to the candidates. Gore plays the class, race, age, labor, and every other special interest warfare cards. Divide and conquer by playing to people's fears with scare tactics. Isn't the President supposed to be EVERYBODY'S President?

Despite Gore's tactics, I think Bush and the Republicans are doing better than they used to, and I'd like to see them do a lot better. They will. There are several factors. Interesting that you point out that Dem support is down to 80 percent of African Americans. It was 90+ percent not long ago. The Republicans and Bush have had some success, and it's only a matter of time before they do even better with African Americans, Hispanics, and even unions, flapjack.
