Skeeter, I understand your points. I'm not a defender of SS. I just don't hate it as much as I used to. I grew in a family that barely made a middle class income. (paycheck to paycheck) I did some calculations for my father when he retired. He came up on the short end of the stick. So even the bottom end of the middle class is getting the worst of it in most cases. But there is a sort of insurance component to it in that if he lives to 105 I think the numbers start looking better. :-) Wayne
