SDRAM and RDRAM were announced at the same time in 1991.
RDRAM shipped in 1995 at 500MHZ. SDRAM shipped in 1996 at 66MHZ.
It took a year longer to ship SDRAM. I could go on with the DDR schedule versus the PC800 schedule but it is wasted on you....
