Technocrat: Why would QLGC switches go to EMC through McData instead of directly to EMC. EMC recently qualified Q's 16 port switch.

Kurt,

Thanks for the G2. This is very good news. May be, just may be performance superiority is a desirable thing. May be, just may be our years of believing in Ancor had some truth in it, not just a myth. May be some of the non-believers will change their mind even they made tons of money already. LOL.

Technocrat -- thanks for the info, but as a longtime, confused, nontechie, overly-whipsawed QNCR investor, I am a little unclear on a few things that maybe you can help me with.

Subassembly?

Do you mean that McData is now (at least sometimes) rebranding the Q switch as the McData switch? Or is it the Q asic now being the root of the McData switch?

Would Q in turn announce an OEM win with McData? Is this more a reseller agreement?

As you can see. . . while I'm excited by the thought of this news, I don't fully grasp it. :-)

Thanks for any followup and thanks again for your fascinating posts through the years.
