<ot>Dear John - sure I can, WATCH ME! Jesting aside, I certainly do not see VP Gore being an antibusiness ecological zealot. Maybe Gov Bush is not a bad governor [I am not from Tx,] but there is no evidence he is pragmatic in an enlightened sense. More important, your outburst is suggesting you ve allowed your emotion to usurp the rational side. Misdemeanor aside, evidence did suggest Gov Bush is as egoistic as any other pol by his snub of Sen McCain after he won the GOP nomination. He did tone it down subsequently. My guess is that his handler has suggested to him he would not get the WH w/o playing nice to Sen McCain. In the end, my impression is that you are making Gore worse than he is and Bush better than he is. I mean, w/o the millions pouring into Bush campaign, I do not think he could even take out Sen McCain. W/o his handlers, his performance is less than impressive. I understand my idealistic analysis is subpar to Messr De Torqueville, but then I am me <VBG>!

When you compare the Reagan-Bush and Clinton-Gore administrations, with 8 yrs each enough to neutralize any fiscal lag, you ve to admit the latter is better to your pocket book! I will grant that Zeev's assertion is correct that Sec Rabin and [I will add Chairman Greenspan] have a lot to do about the prosperity.

Ultimately, I am not here to convert anyone, and I don't think you should either. We are adults. If we are undecided, that's one thing. But if we have our POVs, we should compare notes in a rational manner, and not emotional proselitzing. Otherwise, we are no better than the zealots of which we accuse others :)

best, Bosco
