Sorry about calling them soldiers, I misspoke. Anyway, it's a really good picture. That ought to count for something. Not as good, historically, as if it really were the first photo of the flag being raised over Iwo Jima, but still a really good photo, visually. I remember that I could have bought an actual Ansel Adams print of Moonrise Sonoro New Mexico for $1000 about 25 years ago. The gallery would have allowed me to pay $100 from time to time until I paid it off. One of the great regrets of my life, of which there are many.
