RE: backlog

I have noticed that in most of the analyst reports (a large proportion of which are wildly bullish) one of the main drivers of the 'no slowdown' theory is that CSCO's large and growing backlog is indicative that there really is no slowdown. Also, the argument is made that if there is a temporary 1 or 2 quarter item like NT's problems are (arguably), then this backlog will keep CSCO from having a problem of a similar magnitude.

In the past, analysts didn't know that CSCO had a backlog.
