Only insofar as it drives graded authentication through NMAS. Of course, that market is potentially HUGE.

Elmo,

It sounds like an innovative biometric means of uniquely IDing a user with commonly available inputs. Although these devices are low priced and easily available, not all (if not the majority) of workstations have webcams and many people might not care to speak into their computer to authenticate into the computer.

The benefit of this solution, if it is integrated into NDS, is that a relatively common biometric input device(s) can be available as the user can go from workstation to workstation.

I think that the portable thumb/fingerprint scanner is a great idea IF it could be part of a portable concept (again - like a USB interfaced device) so that a user can carry the identification unit with her/him from PC to PC. I also would like to see an PC OEM industry standard that ALL devices place the USB port in the FRONT of the PC or notebook computer. That would make the concept of portable interfacing devices easier to use and further promote the user of biometric authentication.

Biometric is the most credible form of authentication (i.e. "what you know", "what you have", "What You Are"). I wish the industry would push biometric authentication HARDER!!

Cheers!
