difficult for most people to understand how these short-term players will drive a stock down a few points in order to load up... I suspect that as usual, the stock ran up in the days before earnings, and whoever was expecting a 2 or 3 cent surprise on a position trade is out.

The stock is trading many millions of shares after hours. Anybody silly enough to think CSCO would beat by 2 or 3 cents when they have a streak of like 12 quarters beating by 1 cent (practically a law of nature at this point, tho' I suspect a mutable one) probably does not have the wherewithal to manipulate millions, nay, oodles!, of shares in after hours. Which is to say, I believe the selling is in earnest.

TLC: It is interesting to watch what went on here after hrs. They drove it down by about 2 and now it has come back by the same amount. I guess until the jury comes back we will not really know how the real market will react tomorrow.JFD
