David,

Thanks for jogging my memory. Zogby showed about a 3-5 point swing towards Clinton during the last two days of the election, during a time when all the other pollsters showed Dole closing the gap.

This made me very suspicious about what Zogby was up to.

BTW: Golden has lots of tract houses and watered down beer.

Re: If you like Zogby as accurate.. Bush and his cheerleaders on here might have cause for concern:

"The latest Reuters/MSNBC/Zogby daily tracking poll,
released Monday evening, showed the vice president pulling
ahead by 48 percent to 46 percent after having trailed Bush
by similar margins for more than 10 days. While the
difference remains within the poll’s 3-point margin of sampling error and is a statistical tie, the movement toward Gore mimics trends in most other tracking polls, nearly all of which indicate Bush’s lead dwindling to statistical insignificance only hours before the polls open.
John Zogby, whose firm conducted the survey, said Monday that “Gore has pulled into an ever-so-slight lead ...
by opening up a 2-to-1 lead among 18- to 29-year-olds,”
who he said are shifting away from Green Party nominee
Ralph Nader. “But this is not over,” Zogby stressed."

I am glad to see the youth of America are attempting to save the USA from a "Dumb and Dumber" reign ;)

Sorry.. I had to let my objectivity down.. but I go along wit the majority of Canada as a whole and hope that Gore somehow pulls this out - A Bush vote signifies an isolationist America in the world, led by someone with a not very astute grasp of foreign issues.. a laxer environmental policy if his record in Texas is any indication - who would be insane enough to allow the oil companies to police themselves on pollution.. thats an oxymoron if I ever have heard one.. oh I forgot.. he's an oil executive.. how coincidental.. a laxer environment position which affects us signifcantly (we had to put up with Reagan in the 80's claiming acid rain came from natural tree emissions from Co2 as well as cows dropping dung instead of the coal fired plants with no pollution scrubbers from the Midwest)and an america less inclined to do something out of compassion and humane concerns then whether its in the strategic or vested interest to do so.

I for one am hoping the staid dull intellectual guy wins out over the personality-friendly but know nothing guy.

Dave,

Zogby's claim to fame was calling last few New York State (and City) elections right on the nose, while other polls all the other polls were off by 10 to 15% overestimating the Democratic candidates.

Since NYC is the media capital, and the elections shocked so many people here, he became a star pollster. Zogby BTW is a Democrat. He is from upstate New York and he has a good feel for New York, but I am not sure how good he is on national level.
