Dear Joseph: Guess what, I WAS THERE during the Eisenhower years which was the LAST TIME we had the Republicans controlling all branches of Govt. That was the last time, until the last 8 years that we had a BALANCED BUDGET. It was accomplished WITHOUT significant tax hikes. I will remind people here that early in his Administration CLINTON pushed through the LARGEST TAX HIKE IN USA HISTORY. Also, the economy has soared. No wonder we have a nice surplus. If we would like to keep it, I suggest we better make sure the policies implemented continue our soaring economy and control govt. spending. I propose that BUSH is the only one of the candidates which if coupled with a Republican Congress could pull it off. JDN
