It is rather amusing that you would be harping about this on the MU thread, the company that prided itself on never being on the bleeding edge and milking the old stuff for as long as possible. That long position hurting a bit?

The vast majority of chips sold are PC133 variety. Following the pricing of the most popular memories is usually a fair way to tell what is happening in all memory categories. I don't think many consumers or box makers give a darn about whether the parts used in each SIMM are a particular memory type.
