Charley, the media director for GW campaign made the same comments on NBC, but they do not hold water...the FL polls were already closed. If anything it might have lead some West coast Gore supporters to stay home thinking it was in the bag. There is no benefit to the media for making themselves look like simpletons.

Imus said this morning the networks were giving Florida to Gore even though Bush was leading in the votes counted department.

Charley -- It's remarkable that the media can make fools of themselves not once, but twice, in the same evening.

BTW, the Senate may be in play for the next two years, particularly if it ends up 50-50 after all the votes are counted. While I wish no one ill will, neither Jesse Helms nor Strom Thurmond are models of health these days, and the governors of both states are Democrats.
