Bill,I realize that we are still on a manual system and there are some voting irregularities but it does not look as if the 'Florida' system (as it seems America has different voting systems in different areas) is much better. Misplaced ballots and ballots that 'disappear' for a period of time as well as other voting irregularities... very strange.

As far as voting this year, there's not much of a choice. Liberal or... maybe I'll vote for the Bloc... ;-)

Bill, as far as the best government money can buy, I don't think Canada can compete with the U.S. there either. I read a figure yesterday that put total spending for this U.S. election, at all levels, at a cool $3 billion. And I'm sure that doesn't include all the day to day lobbying crap that goes on in Congress. Almost makes me want to turn Libertarian, at least those guys are up front about the 1 dollar, one vote, you get what you pay for principle.

Cheers, Dan.

Bill Jackson made this outrageous claim/statement

"gwn, All manual systems here, full of incorrect voting methods, damaged and spoiled ballots."

Oh c'mon Bill.. we've been using computerized systems in the major cities.. sure.. some of the rural places still have to manually cont them.. but this isnt Nigeria.

"All kinds of extra people registered to vote. NDP did this a lot, they had flying squads of 25 people that would register in 20-30 polling places under different names as residents of other NDP people and the would the vote 20-30 times as different people. Quite the racket."

This is an outlandish statement... care to show your proof?
There were no charges of voter or election fraud in any of the Cdn elections in the last 10 years.

"You feel we have a honest liberal government?, we have the best goverment money can buy, if only they would stay bought."

Uh huh... if you want a "bought" government, try Prime minister Brian Mulroney's Conservative govt from '84-93. One of the sleaziest patronage-ridden govts in Canadian history as far as I am concerned

Bill Re..You feel we have a honest liberal government?, we have the best goverment money can buy, if only they would stay bought.<<<<<<

Yours may be better but ours is more expensive. Hell; they are charging $10,000 for a breakfast, and 100,000+ for a stay in the Lincoln bedroom. Can you top that for greed and graft.
