Anywho, given all that, what say you to the idea that darn it this ain't rocket science...sure the ballot is not all that confusing but WHY IN THE WORLD does there need to be almost ANY confusion. I mean even in my Great State of Illinois, the Bush tix was item number one yet the punch was actually one row down on number two... the Dems followed as item two (same side of page) but punch three. If one follows the arrows he should be okay, but G forbid that we use a mechanism that allows a voter to actually confirm the vote he has made is correctly identified on the circa 1930? IBM clone punchcard. For a moment I thought I was taking the SAT all over again ;-( Plus, the little punchy tool (please enlighten me as to the technical name for the 'puncher') is far too small and the holes far too small for many of the elderly, infirmed, or simply uncoordinated to handle correctly, or at least easily. What is going on that in the year 2000 this is the best our great Republic can offer to its fine citizenry?
