That's the way people without a soul or core belief beyond "I want power at all cost" act.

Imagine, Gore lost the election because he lost his home state of Tennessee.

"As usual, you're putting your own perceived interests above those of your country. God, help us all."

Who leads in the popular vote? Who leads in the electoral vote?

I can see by your posts how even-handed and non-fanatical you are.

Do you expect any less from Gore?! He's follwing the Clinton playbook, he's just not as good as Bill.

They are like little children begging mommy for just 1 more cookie before they are sent to bed. The count was perfectly fine when they thought they were winning.

When the re count is completed, Bush will claim victory and Gore will concede. There won't be any challenge. Only a few more hours.

I just realized I voted for Al Gore when I intended to vote for George W. Bush...all my friends are saying the same thing...I think this could have happened all over the country...

Seriously, how does it suddenly occur to someone hours later that they voted for the wrong person??? I believe it is impossible.

Sad day for world politics. Just imagine the example we are setting for the rest of the world, where we're trying to promote democracy. The Chinese must be having a heyday with this. Lost credibility? Thank you, Al Gore and your henchmen. As usual, you're putting your own perceived interests above those of your country. God, help us all.

Man, the rhetoric is thick in here. I need hip boots just to walk through all the BS coming from both sides. One thing I don't get though -- since when did Republicans become angelic citizens who do no evil, and Dems are responsible for all the ills of the world? You want to talk about a stain on democracy? Remember a little burglary incident called Watergate?

Politics and power corrupts all men (and women). Neither side has a lock (or even much of a grasp) on purity. And I would bet very strongly that no matter who comes out ahead, the fact that it is so close will make the loser want to litigate it. I'm saying that either Gore or Bush will do damn near anything to become the leader of the free world. And isn't that what is appropriate? Don't you want a zealous leader who won't back down if the cause is worth fighting for?

Flame away, I've got asbestos gloves on.
