Re: "Reread my posts and you will see the discussion of actions, nicely highlighted by you"

Please don't think you can hyjack this discussion. It was between Amy and myself and she was the one who claimed holding a belief was illegal. She talked about beliefs and I talked about actions. You were not part of that discussion but you seem to be reinforcing my point.

Re: "Answer the question: Is it, or is it not correct that expressing the belief in the workplqace that "women belong in the home" is an illegal act?"

Sigh.... I already answered that one. The first amendment says that the government shall pass no law restricting freedom of speech. Where have you been? Simply expressing a belief or opinion is not illegal, yet. Sorry to all the liberals out there who can't stand a differing opinion but that's the way it is.

Now if it is done in a deliberate manner, that is part of a pattern of denying equal employment opportunity, then it becomes part of that action which may be illegal. Do you think it's illegal to say "I'm a Christian" or "I'm a Jew or Muslum"? It is illegal to say I'm a Christian and I only hire Christians, but it's the action that is illegal, not the belief.

Why is this so difficult for you two? Why not simply admit that holding beliefs isn't illegal? Would that be so hard? That's all the original claim was and I'm sure Amy would rephrase it if she was posting it again. I was polite and somehow you can't bring yourself to be the same.
