OK, I'll buy your assertation of letting everyone do it all over again. The point is, an election held that results in a vote of no-confidence by a vast segment of the electorate is not good. Either way, that will be the case with tis one IMO.

There are too many variables, and it would set an unacceptable precedent to void the election. It will have to stand.
