"I'm begining to think that Clinton may be our first President to have an extended term as President in an interim capacity. "

I'm not sure that's how it would be solved. It seems to me he's precluded from serving beyond the end of his second term by the Constitution. It would seem to me the Speaker of the House would be the President Pro Tem if the election were not settled by Inauguration Day. I think what Joe Lieberman will do with his Senate seat if the above occurs would also be a most interesting question. I have to admit Joe made a great paired trade there.

Regards,

Barb

I am no fan of the Bush brothers. But tell me how do you think they rigged? This allegation has the same merit as the one that claims Dems made sure illegal immigrants got a chance to vote in the CA elections!

Ice may be right, but I do think that US is not quite a banana republic, yet. But it is getting there! Thanks to the public's vote of confidence in Clinton! That may very well be the beginning!

Lew, there are many instances of election fraud and abuses in history but it didn't matter too much because of the victors margins. Mike

Lew, Also a cynic, my feeling is that it goes on every election. We only notice it here because the election isn't one-sided for the first time in a long while. Sometimes it is hard to believe the risks politicians take for no good reason. For example, Nixon's burglars broke into the Watergate to mess up the McGovern campaign. Did he really think George McGovern had a chance? And they put a mickey in Muskie's drink to make him have a nervous breakdown on camera. They were worried about Edmund Muskie's charisma? Lordy, lordy! But, this time there was reason to worry about results and a few of the dirty tricks are coming to light.
