Nichols, I don't understand how anyone can say Bush lost the election. I mean it's a bitter pill to swallow, but until a recount says it's any different, Bush won FL, and the electoral college vote and is the President-elect.

What planet on you guys on?

If he loses the recount, Gore wins, it's that simple.

But, it's simply sour grapes to bitch and moan about the ladies who filled out their ballot incorrectly.

Precisely right...Bush, even if he wins, will look like a neutered puppy at best.

Bsuh lost the election

With all the outstanding votes (absentee and overseas) yet to be counted, this statement can not be made at this time if you are referring to the popular vote totals.

Moreover, if you are referring to the EC system, the time for such recriminations was PRIOR to the elction. If this country wants to adopt a popular vote rule as opposed to the current EC system, the Constitution needs to be amended. Similar sceanrios and discussions ensued the 1960 and 1968 elections but no pr0posed amendment ever had legs.

As if Gore EVER had an ounce of credibility?

If Gore and the dem's legal machine succeed in manipulating this process there are many who will never acknowledge his presidency.

Sham? If Bush as president, Cheney as VP, and Powell as SecState is a sham than I'm buying... I'd take any 1 of those 3's credibility/truthfulness over Gore/Clinton's any time.
