<Bush only up in Florida by 799 votes as per CNBC, about 1/2 of the counties still left to be recounted.>

This is highly unusual. Past Florida county-wide recounts rarely resulted in more than 10 votes discrepancy one way or another per county. So far the 32 counties that were counted resulted in an addition of 1,189 votes for Gore and 346 votes for Bush. That's a positive 50 votes per county, which based on past recount results is a statistical impossibility, unless new ballots are now being counted that were not counted before -- perhaps under the scrutiny of all those lawyers and observers. The fact that the additional votes are breaking for Gore by more than 3 to 1 means that the omitted ballots were in heavily democratic, probably black precincts. This is my conclusion so far.
