As we sit here waiting for the results I can't help but feel that even if Bush wins Florida the democrats will find a way to make this as difficult and unsavory a situation as possible. Maybe it's time to go to the popular vote as our determiner but it wasn't 2 months ago that Al Gore agreed to abide by the Electoral College results. That statement was made when it appeared that Mr. Bush might win the popular vote but lose the electoral vote. Now that the tables have turned (assuming the recount in Florida gives Bush the win) the Democrats seem to be prepared to create a constitutional crisis. Already Gore has deployed his group of henchmen to rally and create civil unrest in Florida. Even Nixon had the dignity to step aside in 1960 under what most people believe to be less than honest circumstances. Don't get me wrong; we all want a fair and honest outcome to this election but it's unbelievable to me that a "servant of the people" would hold the country and the stock market hostage for his or her own egotistical desires.
