Could it be related to the AMD downgrade as well? A couple things seem to be interrelated.
I don't see how, after their strong quarter, they continue to be so closely tied to companies they are beating(referring to Dell).........

El, I hope you are right, but we have fallen several points on openings of less than 800000 shares. It doesn't add up to serious selling, just specialists shaking out the weak hands and accumulating those daytrading shares while increasing the holdings of the institutional investors. The analysts know by now that Dell has its own set of problems to contend with. Darlings are not given a free pass anymore, although some would like it that way. Conversely, until CPQ becomes a darling, if it ever does become one, it will follow the market. I am inclined to see how far it drops before buying a boatload of options or leaps.

It hurts, my JBL is down from 54 to 45 in two days, so the Compaq share price is actually doing better. JBL will have 50% growth this year alone and is trading at a PEG of less than one. Talk about a bargain.

Elwood - The latest on the election probably doesn't help.

Sig,
One other short term (hell, maybe long term the way it looks!) uncertainty. I just saw one of Gore's talking heads (Daley) live on MSNBC stating that the 'irregularities' in Palm Beach will require them to work with voters to initiate 'legal action'. These guys smell a Bush victory and are going to drag this thing through the mud. It's gonna get ugly. The markets look to be tanking further on this news...

Regards,
John

PS - Of course Jesse is already in Florida 'protesting'. Can the MILLION VOTE MARCH be far behind????
