Hence AMD's dilemma and why server CPUs seem to be temporarily deemphasized on the road map.

Did you listen to the CC? The server push starts in Q1. Looks like AMD are aiming at the rack mounted server market with the 760MP. That is an area where there is volume plus demand for high-performance.

rsi, <Large cache Mustangs, this was supposed to be the main improvement> Well, is the Palomino 512K or 256K?

I think the main improvement is 0.15µ vs. 0.18µ for the current TBird. That should scale to 1.4 GHz almost immediately, but even more than that because the TBird is really limited to 1.2 GHz by heat, not by transistor speed.
The rumored architectural improvements should add another 5% to performance and if its 512K, thats another 5-10%.

How the market will interpret this CC, it's hard to say. Market swamped by macro effects these days. My worst fear is that analysts will simply ignore AMD's fundamentals and guidance (eg status quo for the last six months)

t.,

The market apparently is not taking it well.....we are at the low of the day inspite of the fact that the Naz is trying to rally.
