OMD, That would be a very statesman-like response. I know the market bounced off of support this afternoon, but I've got a very bad feeling about the ultimate disposition of this election.

We don't burn our draft cards down on Main Street, 'cause we like living right and being free. We don't make a party out of loving, but we like holding hands and pitching woo. We don't let our hair grow long and shaggy, like the hippies out in San Francisco do. And I'm proud to be an Okie from Muskogee, a place where even squares can have a ball. We still wave ol' glory down at the courthouse, and white lightning's still the biggest thrill of all. Leather boots are still in style for manly footwear. Beads and roman sandals won't be seen, 'n' football's still the roughest thing on campus, and the kids there still respect the college dean.

OMD First... good speach! Well written!! Second... Full disclosure. I voted Gore. (Against Bush) (I am Republican) Thrid... Gore should deliver the speach. Even Buchanan admits he got votes he didn't deserve. cnn.com So, he we are. We're going to put a man in office that didn't get either the popular or electoral vote. He's going to get the job because of an error that the Republicans want to sweep under the rug. This is not justice. HOWEVER, that said, you speach is right on the money.. we should have a bi-partisan executive branch. I think Colin Powell makes a great Sec. of State no matter who wins. Still, it appears, based upon the data I have, that Gore is going to get the shaft.... AAAaaand you know that the Republicans (Bush) would feel the same if he was in Gore's shoes. Current Tally has Bush leading Gore by 359 votes with 4 counties still being counted and the 2000+ overseas ballots. OG
