arno,

First to address bp's post.. Bush has 362 votes more than Gore for Florida

cnn.com

This count assumes that 19,000 votes from predominantly Gore terrirtory in West Palm Beach are tossed - as they have been. Of the votes that did count Buchanan clearly recieved Gore votes to which even he agree's he should not have been awarded... mainly due to ballot problems.

cnn.com

So, you are right - the guy who wins Florida will get the electoral vote but there is a chance that the Florida electoral vote will be awarded incorrectly if in fact these irregularities are ignored.

BTW: My earlier post should be retracted. I should have stated that who ever wins the presidency should deliver that speach that OMD wrote... It could be Bush, it could be Gore... I think however if these irregularities are ignored we will have an issue. If you read some of the information on the election the ballot problems were raised in the afternoon of election day... by the person that designed the ballot - so it's not like this is an after the fact complaint.
