"might as well be the Philippines" .. or Canada - Message 14756870
.. [the english debate is starting at this moment]
.. [consider this - both your candidates can speak your official language, lol]

Of the three nations on this continent, none plays the straight man, they're all jokes politically at the moment ... only clear thing to me was 2 July in México, it was important to get rid of the PRI ... but now that that's done, the strange spectrum of the coalition who did it will make for great political cartoons, just watch.

They say 'italians were not designed to be governed', but i'd extend that to the species at large ... and as for us governing, well good luck on that, lol

Since The Electoral Process Is The Very Foundation Democracy

It is imperative that this process in the ' Cradle Of Democracy " be allowed to see its way though this current situation.Anything less, and the Euros,the Japanese,the Ruskies or the Red Chinese for that matter,will have backing to an argument that Democracy, in it's current form, is not the be all and end all to a just society.

Each and every time something like this happens, Democracy is put on the stand in front of the world at large,and if some people think this doesn't matter, they had better give their heads a shake.

The idea that the party or the candidate with the most monetary influence itself calls the process into question in the eyes of less fortunate nations.Add to this the speculation of wrong doing in electoral procedures , and it is a recipe for the fall of a political system, such as what happened in the USSR.You cannot influence other nations or political processes towards your way of thinking, when the process itself may be called into question.

These thoughts are going through the minds of influential and powerful people and institutions globally as we await the outcome of this election.Both potential presidents fully understand the import of this, and damage control is obviously necessary to quell any concerns that democracy itself has been compromised.

Do not take these events lightly, as history has shown even most recently in little Peru, that events that cause anxiety and confusion can escalate into something much more serious if left to fester.

It is in America's best interest to resolve the election outcome quickly and accurately before any further damage is done or forces are unleashed that turns back the clock on democracy.Also :

I would strongly suggest that the TV Networks get a grip on the influence they carry in today’s information age.I would strongly suggest that during the NEXT election, there be a :

C—O—M—P—L—E—T—E ========= B—L—A—C—K—O—U—T!!

of any reporting of results till ALL polls are closed -- from coast to coast.

I would also strongly suggest that the Networks re-calibrate their numerical models that attempt to predict the outcomes of elections, in what appears to be a race to MAKE NEWS , not REPORT NEWS!!

And that’s ---- THE REST OF THE STORY!

Bolsa filipina seems to have gapped up 35% or so, only retraced half so far - ca.finance.yahoo.com^psi&d=5d

What's it like for you on the ground there? ... i scanned your bio, only saw 'filipinos' once in the starts of posts and it was a reference to ancient history ... all i've seen of the news is the headlines ... seems like people should be happy for a while, until the next disillusionment ... but then, chinese year of the snake starts Wednesday, supposed to be a year for the thoughtful and soft-spoken.
