The worst case scenario is for this to drag on. If that happens, the market will keep trending down and the year-end rally will not happen. If that happens, watch for the wealth effect to kick in reverse. Andrew, The stock market is behaving stupidly....the army has not mobilized and a coup is not eminent. You may want to read some of the excerpts from the Federalist Papers that S. Harris posted on this thread. There is a lot more at stake then a temporary dip in the stock market. ted
