Scumbria,

I'm trying to figure out why Republicans are so afraid to redo the Florida election.

The constitution specifies a day when the presidential elections should be held. Something about the Tuesday after the first Monday of the month of November. Why do you think the framers went to this level of specificity?

Answer: Because they wanted the elections to be held on the same day in all states.

Where do you see a provision about a re-vote on a different date?

Joe

Scumbria - RE: "I'm trying to figure out why Republicans are so afraid to redo the Florida election.

Are they afraid that the will of the people will be expressed in a Gore victory? If not, then let it happen."

Assuming there is no fraud to be found in Florida, what kind of precedent do you think a re-vote in Florida would set for the nation as a whole?

Do you believe a re-vote would be healthy for the nation?

Scumbria,

They are simply following the lead of their candidate. Twice Mr. Bush has called a press conference to announce that he is the president-elect. It is now postponed to 2:30 EST.

Mr. Bush seems to ignore the fact that 4 counties in FL are concerned and have voluntarily agreed to do a hand count.
