I agree the Dell situation alone shouldn't warrant a downgrade of Intel. It appears the economy is slowing, there is a lot of evidence that US retail is soft, and with the dollar strong, demand overseas doesn't appear to have taken up the slack. I think the product transition part of the downgrade is wrong, but the demand side may be a significant concern, at least short term.

But I think if the election problem gets settled, we will see a rally (Intel included). Until that happens, noboby is going to be putting money in the markets.

Tony, Re: Intel should come out like LSI did, if they think things are as good as they implied in the webcast.

While I don't like to see INTC fall, I don't think they need to come out every time there is downgrade. Should they come out if there is upgrade also ?

well, amd was downgraded because of dell and dell does not even use amd
