Dave, remember when INTC came out with their earnings? Then the stock ran to 47 off it's lows, and every analyst raised price projections and growth estimates going into 2001 with the launch of their new chip. That's the same thing that will happen when all this mess with the elections are over. Every analyst will be, buy, buy, buy, and tech will be where you want your money. The markets will rally to 4000-4200 before years end, then we'll fall like a rock going into 2001 with all the lockup expirations coming due. That's my honest opinion, and that's how I will trade this market. I'm just watching blocks on my screen all day today, and will look to enter long positions for the remainder of the year next week, based upon what I'm seeing as of yesterday and today.

The market is still saying tech valuations are too high. But with retail still looking weak, and fuel cell, healthcare, drugs and biotechs already up bigtime for the year, (even Tobacco and pollution control lately) what sectors do you rotate to?

Cash. T Bills.

;)

No kidding, standing aside is not a bad thing to do sometimes. Often times.

There has to be a smarter approach than tech.

When people say things like that, I start slowly building long term tech positions, a few shares at a time. Yea I get hit for a few points sometimes for a short time, but in hindsight they are always my best investments. Like SCMR last may in the 70s, sold it for a double a few months ago...CFLO at 104 bought on a bloody day just sold 144 held less than a month. I'm able to hold onto these without stressing out during the whipsaws since I have a cushion.
And then when things turn up I trade around those core postitions. Cause I'm not putting my $ into safeway!!!
