Bush has done nothing wrong. Gore is holding our country hostage for his own personal gain.

As far as I can tell neither Bush or Gore has done anything wrong and the country isn't being held hostage in any manner either.

If I believe what everyone seems to be saying. We all want the election to be determined based on what the popular vote in Florida is. What is going on at the moment is determing what that vote is.

The AP newswire service does not determine the vote.

There are a number of issues with the vote in Florida. One of which is the "confusing nature" of Palm Beach's butterfly ballot and it's legality. I am expecting that the "confusing nature" filing will be discarded. The legality issue is separate and the judicial system will determine a finding of fact and decide whether a remedy is required and what that remedy should be [if required].

There is an additional question of several thousand votes that did not register a Presidential vote by machine counting. A request has been made for a manual count to determine if that was a machine related error. Are you suggesting these are not valid votes and should not be counted or even considered?

So what do you want to determine the Presidency on? The AP news wire voter count or the State Certified account? I'll assume you want to throw out the "confusing ballot" claim. Are you saying it doesn't matter whether the ballot was legal and a finding of fact is irrelevant and the judicial system should be precluded from determining whether a remedy is required. Are you saying it doesn't matter whether a machine error resulted in not counting valid votes?

Is the health of our political system to be based on....don't look to close at the vote, it's close enough for us.

Another question.....

True Story: An election occurred [sorry, I don't remember the names and it shouldn't matter anyway] where a member of Congress was elected, sic, certified by the State as having received a plurality of the vote. The State Certification was premature, when all the ballots were counted the other candidate had the plurality, but the State did not certify the candidate that had the plurality when all the ballots were certified. The Congress subsequently swore in the candidate that had received the plurality. Was this, in your opinion, the correct action or should Congress have ignored the actual vote and accepted the State Certification that was incorrectly assigned?
