Nick it is now being reported that the so called 19000 disallowed ballots were ballots turned in to the precinct workers as having been mistakenly marked, the ballots were cancelled properly and new ballots reissued and voted on. There are no 19000 people whose vote did not count. This happens in every precinct nationwide. I for one mis-marked a state initiative out here in CA and was reissued a new ballot after I signed a form and a stamp was put on the wrong ballot. I have done this in several elections before as state propositions are lengthy and hard to understand sometimes. There is no "injustice" here. As for machines, they are used nationwide and there accuracy has not been invalidated in court even once.

<<What difference does it make if we wait until November 17, 2000, to declare the REAL winner?>>

Uh...what differance??? Uh...have you opened your eyes in the last day or two. This is having a huge impact on WORLD events, not to mention the fact it is tearing this country apart...dividing the greatest country in the world.....creating infighting within our own country....I could go on, but you get my point........What differance?? Sheesh!!

Once the election results are finalized, I think it would be interesting to know, state by state, exactly how many ballots go into the trash bin given inaccurate markings, double voting, and any other violations that disqualify a vote.

I think we all would be in for a surprise at the numbers of disqualified votes especially where "punch the hole" ballots are being used.

Nick, that one doesn't even pass the laugh test. "I am concerned about the ballots that the machines might not be reading because they have not been punched all the way out."
And, by now, as JW pointed out, the ballots have been run through the machines twice and the little dots are starting to come out through repeated handling. The ballots are thus becoming less reliable evidence.

Are you on Gore/Daley's e-mail list of "50 ways to challenge the Florida election?"

No one has suggested yet that the ballot paper color was chosen based upon research that liberals become dizzy and lightheaded when looking at it. Maybe they're saving that one to come out before the 6:00 news cycle.
