I dunno, though. I have 75 year old parents who are sharp as tacks, and one made the first mistake ever while casting a ballot. And she was devastated. But it was just an error.

I spoke with two 80ish guys today who might have trouble casting the ballot but they knew their stuff. They are not stressed by the time element, but find it perplexing that anyone is making a deal of it. Heck, they grew up when things took time and we weren't so impatient. They knew civics and understood nuances as good as anyone I've talked with, and better than the great majority.

So they are daffy on punching holes. They have a wisdom that we can't crasp. Born before or during the depression, going through WWII, all of that. Who are we to dismiss them?

Even my father, a southern dirt farmer by birth who is a life-long Republican (his father wasn't sure if being that, a Methodist, or marrying a city girl pissed him off more), said that the election can't be certified till the 17th so what's the hurry? Relax.

Are we really living in the tranquilizer age?

I know you are being funny, and maybe serious too. I was teasing about taking away the vote. But I was really pleased and heartened by talking to those old men today.
