While we're all watching the election charts and graphs, here's another visual aid we need to keep track of:

wxderive.com

As my politically incorrect father used to say: "This reminds me of the day they hung Tojo - there's a little NIP in the air."

(edit - no slur intended)

re: Florida recount

I think the Bush folks are waiting to see if Gore gets a lead. They are only recounting in Democract districts. Just read an article that there is a district in Florida called Duval County that is heavy republican and they have over 26000 ballots that were disqualified or didn't vote for president. I bet Bush could pick up some votes in this district if they hand count them. Also, in 1996 there were around 2000 votes recieved from overseas after the election. I believe that someone commented that the overseas ballots were going 2 to 1 for Bush. They sent out like 7000 of these and I quess they have recieved most of them and still expect about 2000 more. This is going to be a very long process if Gore gets a lead over Bush. Bush has a lot of options if he chooses to proceed.

In the second computer recount, did they just do that in the 4 heavy democractic districts or statewide. If just the 4 districs in question, Bush should do the same thing in Republican districts and he will probably pick up more votes.

Looks like Bush has taken the lead in New Mexico. Still has a shot at the popular vote.
