JW--great post re Gore. His behavior at the 1st debate was enough to convince many that he was not in control of his emotions. the poor guy, he was told since he was two he would be prez and it just won't happen. with that type of pressure coiled up you can understand why he acts like he does. bush is the prez. it won't change for at least 4 years. gore can't admit that bush won the FL vote, then he won the re-count. the out of towners vote is the ONE thing that COULD change it. All the other squabbles mean zero. If they took the election away from bush for any of the normal quirks we find in any election there would be cause for riot. this is the US--not some corrupt country run by a regime. Gore simply can't win with his tactics. Someone in his party needs to publicly ask gore to come out of his tantrum. i haven't felt this way since the days after kennedy was assasinated. Ask yourself--what would the outcome be if by some chance they took the presidency away from bush and handed it to gore. the acrimony, furor, devisiveness and uproar would go on for years. gore MUST know this on an intellectual level. CERTAINLY his advisors have told him this. yet he threatens to tear the country apart.
