By that reasoning, TG, then maybe we should have a manual recount in EVERY State where the Electoral vote is large, and the popular count is close.....But then, I also think that we should DEMAND (there I said that word that we hear the press and the Dems say all the time....) DEMAND that the voter ID validation be verified!

TG - "I highly doubt this Federal judge will intervene to STOP a manual recount."

Bush Goes to Court to Halt Recount; Judge Sets Hearing for Monday

The manual count will probably be completed before the court holds a hearing on Monday. The R's will then be in the awkward position of arguing "toss out those Gore votes, because if we follow the actual vote count we lose".

Apparently there are three types of punches that get counted for the first time in a manual recount - ones where one side of the hole is punched but not the other, ones where both sides are punched but the punch didn't go all the way through and ones where the chad is attached by a flap like a door. My thought is that this may actually disqualify some ballots which were counted before if people started to punch Buchanan, then stopped themselves and punched Gore. I assume that they will be fair and disqualify all ballots which have one hole completely punched and one partially punched.

The ones which have just dimples are called "pregnants" and don't count.
