Amy, <Democrats are very pro-startups> I don't think that is the view of most 1st-generation Koreans. Then again, a lot of them aren't even citizens yet, so I guess the point is moot (except in Florida, where I'll bet there are more than just 300 Korean-American citizens who could have voted, but didn't). Another reason why 1st-generation Koreans might vote Republican (among those who can vote) would be their impression that the GOP is more for conservative values than the Dems. Korean culture is generally very conservative. This has been changing over the past few decades, but that change would affect us 2nd-generationers, not our elders. Tenchusatsu

Amy, RE:"Democrats are very pro-startups. Current Republican Party did not demonstrate this, which surprised me because I had thought Republicans were for businesses, but maybe only F500. Maybe the Republican Party favors the F500 large corporations, while the Democratic Party favors Startups. There are more CEOs of small businesses than there are of F500s. " In general when you consider all the rules, regulations, forms, fees, taxes and hoops you have to jump through so the government can get in line to take a piece of your action, I don't know how you can come up with a statement like "Democrats are more for startups". Democrats are for bigger government, more rules, forms, taxes, regulations...ad infiniteum. Jim
