Gore victory in sight!

They’re going to do it! The hand recount of 1% of Palm Beach County precincts produced a net gain of 19 votes for Al Gore, and the county voting commission has decided to hand recount all votes in the county! Projecting the trend, this should give Gore 1900 more new votes than will be added to Bush’s total!

If a similar trend occurs in heavily Democratic Volusia County, Gore’s margin should be padded by an additional 800 votes. Then, there’s still 2 more heavily Democratic counties to be hand counted. These should further pad the Gore margin, giving him a large enough lead to overcome the expected Bush advantage in the overseas absentee ballots!

It looks like Gore’s team was indeed smarter than Bush’s team! By applying the more accurate hand counting method only to 4 heavily Democratic counties, more intended Gore votes will be included in Florida’s final count, but similar ballots where the intent was to vote for Bush will be excluded!

In effect, each intended vote for Gore in Florida will count MORE than each intended vote for Bush! This is a stunning come-from-behind victory for Gore and his lawyers! This is Gore-style democracy! Hooray for Al Gore! Hooray for America!
