As to defending Limbo, I have little interest. He will stand or fall on his own. Clearly he campaigns and argues conservative. George Will does the same, and I find him reasonable, relevant, and not a hate monger. (I think one of Limbo's best friends is a minority). While they are not twins by any stretch, I would take either over a Jesse Jackson or Carville approach. But the question of how votes and voting constituencies are garnered is very much to the point. Was the Byrd ad run to educate conservative whites, galvanize a disinterested minority base, soothe race relations, perhaps? There was probably some sophisticated intellectual appeal that I am too dense to catch. Even so the hater-gringos did better with hispanics than ever before. I think you will see more Blacks hearing and appreciating conservative ideas. In the long run they (that's right, I'm not black) will prosper and self-actualize more partnered with conservatism. Right now every black conservative faces withering fire from libs as a Tom, sexual deviant, oreo, on and on. A black intellectual from Stanford(?) is feathered for questioning Blacks' cultural pressure not to get educated. That is a tough amount of social pressure to influence. But I think we will see it happen. Women have flocked to Clinton no doubt purely on substantive issues (and men, obviously jealous of his sex appeal, largely stay away). Well, my full time grounds keepers and maintenance staff are off today, so I will get about some chores, painting, plumbing, caulking. That's normally left to the help (discriminated against minorities, by and large) by us haters, but I'll indulge today. Regards, just another misguided conservative
