The lack of "objective standards" is evident from the fact that the Palm Beach canvassing board changed the rules even last night in mid-game. They switched from the "light test," to "one broken chad," test in mid-count last night to validate previously invalid ballots, and had to start over. I won't even address your assertion that three people make it more objective, as there were reports of those people screaming and yelling last night, disagreeing on many ballots.

And in other counties, different standards and tests are used, with no objectivity or uniformity among the 67 counties, or between Florida and the other states. It dilutes my vote and yours, and unless the entire 100,000,000 million votes are hand-counted, we all are being denied our Equal Protection Rights under the United States Constitution.

Btw, it is Gore's people who have accused the "blue hairs" of denying them their federal civil rights to vote by not allowing them to correct their ballots in PB county. I don't know where you're coming from on either of these issues.

O49, objective standards are horribly difficult to attain
regrettable comments coming from Bush Camp on bluehairs
(if indeed they said that)

the Chad Criterion was not used in counties that Bush won
due process is at stake here
time for the FLorida Sexy of State to step in

an innate bias to favor your own candidate is inescapable
it has even been demonstrated in low-order primates for their families

if bluehair slow speed is suggested, no argument from me
if their objectivity is promised, I have doubts, as I would toward any mere human

precincts must be staffed by impartial foreigners
like from the United Nations

isnt that why we turned to machines?
in addition to their extreme speed

sorry, Jim

carry on...now that I've stood up for the local blue-hairs!

FWIW, I'm standing there beside you. Good post.

Obviously you are not familiar with Florida laws with regard to manual recounts...

Florida has no uniform set of standards for a manual recount. It is wide open to each individual precinct's interpretation...unfortunate...but true. Do a little investigation...guidelines...maybe...but otherwise strictly open to human interpretation.
