1 Person, 0.99 Votes

Do you happen not to live in one of the disputed Florida counties? Too bad. That means your vote will only count for 99/100 of what their votes will count for in this year's presidential election.

What? You don't think that's fair? Again, I say, too bad. Al Gore thinks it's fair, and he's going to be our next president.

Look at the math: the way this is ending up, the intentions of people in 4 heavily Democratic Florida counties will count MORE than the intentions of people in the rest of the nation. Why? Because their ballots are being scoured to locate every possible intended vote. This is not happening anywhere else in the country, even though the problems of intended votes not registering occur everywhere.

What's the result? In terms of pure mathematics, we no longer have a situation where the "1 person 1 vote" rule holds. It's 1 person 1 vote if you live in one of those 4 microscopically examined Florida counties, but it's 1 person ~0.99 votes if you live anywhere else.

That's the undeniable mathematical effect of what's occurring in Florida right now. The value of everyone else's vote is being diminished. This is the death of democracy.
