I wasn't real impressed by the Complaint for Injunction, either. I can't think of a good reason why these stupid punch cards shouldn't be inspected, given the problem that the little chads don't always fall off. Chad - now that's a word most of us could have gone our entire lives without learning. The only Chad I ever heard of before was Chad & Jeremy, the British popsters whose bit hit was "Willow, Weep for Me." One of them, can't remember which, was the brother of Jane Asher, who was Paul McCartney's girlfriend at the time. I think it was Jeremy. I think Chad was the cute one. I am showing my age. -g- I do think that letting the canvassing board have the final say is problematic. I also wonder if Palm Beach County can get the entire recount done before next Tuesday at 5:00 p.m., my guess is "no." I read on another thread that the Republican that Jeb Bush appointed to the Board of Electors is saying that they aren't going to accept any count that is not certified by Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. >>Florida official fears 'meltdown' Florida's top election official warned the state's counties and the presidential candidates Saturday against prolonging the recount, saying the system is about to "melt down." "The statute is very clear that if a county's results are not to us by 5 p.m. Tuesday we shall ignore that county's vote, and the counties need to be very aware of that," Crawford told reporters. "Candidates asking for recounts need to be aware of that." Crawford also stressed that he believed the system is being pressed to its limits. "You've got boxes of ballots right now in Florida that will determine the next president of the United States probably sitting in some closet in somebody's office in some very small counties," he continued.
