The irreparable harm would be losing, of course! LOL!

But what Bush is alleging is that in the end he will win, but if Palm Beach says that Gore won, then his reputation will be injured and it will interfere with the orderly transition of government.

The plaintiffs in this suit include voters from other counties who have a constitutional right for their vote to have an EQUAL weight to all other voters. The county cherry picking nature of the Florida law is unconstitutional in this regard. The mere handling of the ballots is permanently ruining their pure evidentiary status as well.
Further, it is now becoming apparent that the Bush camp can use the results of the Gore picked counties hand count results as evidence of a flawed vote count method in the other counties, which allows Bush to appeal for a statewide hand count even though it is past the 72 hr. deadline.
Also, it is possible the FL state Att. Gen. may dissallow the results of the Gore handcount counties if they push their interpretive efforts too far.
It is looking more and more like this will all go to the Supreme Court.
