This is what cracks me up the most.

Despite the fact that there was a count and a recount, some of the folks complaining about their vote are the same ones that play bingo with about 20 cards at a time and don't miss a beat.

This has gone from sad to tragic. The whole world is laughing at the transparency and ludicrous situation at hand. I doubt we would be hear if the situation were reversed, and it makes me sick to my stomach that the discrimination that is going on against all other voters in the US, and the different standards being imposed against not only all other Floridian voters, but also all other voters is so flagrant that it highlights what is most egregious about the present situation: the desire of democrats to win at all costs, irrespective of the consequences for the rest of the nation. Just count until you get the result you want, period, selectively, of course, by precinct and county. If you are going to count by hand then you have to count the entire country by hand.

I guess it should not surprise me that this attitude is being taken after such a bitter 8-year term in Washington, rife with divisive politics. We, rest assured, will be paying the price for this long after these politicians are gone.

I guess it is obvious to me why it is such: AG goes from being the #2 guy to a guy with nothing to do, not even welcome in his own precinct in TN. GWB goes back to being governor, not half as bad.

Sorry for the poor attitude, but that is honestly how I feel right now. Later and have a great weekend all, or whatever is left of it.

According the George Will on ABC's This Week:

In Florida's most democratic county, Gastonia, they have a corrupt hand count procedure. When the ballot is double punched for president. The judges will look at the ballot and use their unbiased powers to determine who the voter actually intended to vote for.

This is corruption in the worst way. Gore is no doubt as corrupt as Clinton. Maybe worse. Gore is very sanctimonious about his opinions (e.g. environment). Corrupt and sanctimonious - a very dangerous combination in a president.

Keep your fingers crossed for four years.

With the Florida corruption, Bush does not have a chance.

The Times today pointed out a very interesting legal angle on all this. IF the Dems continue to press home on the Florida front, and Florida cannot provide electors for the Dec. 18 electoral college vote, then Gore wins.
Could be part of the reason why they are stalling and not letting anyone know if they are willing to accept the recount.

I am perfectly happy to see if Gore wins the absentee ballots. I am happy to see if he wins a hand recount (apparently, he hasn't in PB...and they ARE counting dimples according to some reports...who knows?).
However, Bush has said they will accept a loss if the recount and absentee ballots show he has lost. HOWEVER, the Bush camp has stated that if further legal action is taken by Gore, they will contest the other states that have 1% or less in differential...which may give him the victory anyway...

My viewpoint? Stalemates get tossed to the House of Reps. Why not consider this nothing more than a stalemate? That's essentially what it is. Nobody has won with anything more than a statistical margin of error.

As I pointed out earlier, I think the market will rise very shortly. The fall, I believe, is a typical "change of administration" affirmation.
