Tom, I appreciate you rational political commentary.

As a lifelong Democrat, I am hoping Gore concedes to Bush, gaining points for integrity and selflessness. With the divided Congress, the Republicans will be unable to enact any controversial legislation or appoint any controversial judges so no harm will be done.

In addition, Bush will proceed to make an idiot of himself resulting in a Democratic majority in the House and Senate in 2002, and a Democratic President in 2004.

Perhaps then we can finally cut military spending and taxes, and enjoy that peace dividend. Maybe we will even wean ourselves away from oil a little so that we don't feel we must control the world to drive our Suburbans.

Ok, I will say no more - spoke my piece.

Peter

P.S. Here is where the money goes, by the way.... fms.treas.gov

OT: question now is should we accept the machine error? Is it fair and legal to do so?

It gets worse, IMO. If we accept the hand count in these primarily democratic counties and accept the fact that it is different than the machine count, shouldn't all the counties in FL go to a hand count to be fair?

How can we selectively hand count only counties which are either heavily Republican or Democrat and call it fair?

What a mess.

You can say that again!

Have a good weekend,

Mike
